November 10, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
Huntsville, Alabama's longest-continuing performing arts organization, the Huntsville Community Chorus, is bringing together its Symphonic Chorus, Children's Chorale, Youth Chorale and music scholarship winners to celebrate 100 years of Broadway musicals. Titled Broadway's Best, the concert takes place at Randolph School's Thurber Arts Center, located at 4915 Garth Road SE at 7pm on Friday, November 20th.
Broadway has produced some of our most endearing and memorable popular music, tunes that have stood the test of time. The concert features a smorgasboard of Broadway medleys as well as music by Bernstein, Copland, highlights from Fiddler on the Roof and Les Misérables as well as a surprise excerpt from Mozart.
Broadway's Best Adult tickets are $15, Seniors $13, College Students $10. Students in Kindergarden through 12th grade may attend for free with a ticketed adult. They can be ordered by phone at (256)533-6606 for pick up at will call, or by visiting the chorus office at 3312 Long Avenue Monday-Thursday between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the concert.
The Huntsville Community Chorus Association (HCCA), was established in 1946 and incorporated as a non-profit all-volunteer community choral organization. HCCA strives to offer the best in choral music and musical theater through various groups: The Symphonic Chorus, The Chamber Chorale, Children’s Chorale, Youth Chorale, and other ensembles that perform throughout the year.
If you would like to support and encourage choral music in Huntsville and the surrounding area by attending this event, or sharing with others you know, you can visit the Community Chorus website for full details.
