Plano, Texas: Precision Environmental Services will now provide asbestos inspections in Grand Prairie and Plano. In the state of Texas, public and commercial buildings are required to undergo asbestos inspections prior to any renovation or demolition projects. In addition, they also offer asbestos inspection services for older homes that may have been built using building materials containing asbestos. What was once believed to be an affordable, flame-resistant material is now putting thousands of Texans at risk.

For decades, asbestos was used in construction. This naturally occurring mineral was used for its resistance to electricity, heat, fire, and corrosion. As a result, it was integrated into a variety of products including plastics, clothing, and several types of building materials including siding, flooring, roofing, and more. At the time, it was not understood that asbestos exposure could lead to serious health problems.

Now that we better understand the dangers of asbestos, it’s important to protect families and employees from this harmful material. Older homes and buildings are currently the primary source of asbestos in the United States, making contact easier than many people realize. Thankfully, Precision Environmental Services is available for asbestos inspections in Plano and Grand Prairie, Texas. All Precision inspectors are fully licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and employ sampling strategies in accordance with the Texas Asbestos Health Protection Act and EPA protocols.

Both the Environmental Protection Agency and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants require asbestos surveys before any renovation or demolition projects in public buildings. In addition, if you are purchasing an older home you may want to request an asbestos inspection in case you plan on doing any home renovations in the future or if there’s an incident that requires some degree of renovation or demolition.

If asbestos is found and is in good condition, then it likely doesn’t present a health risk unless there’s a chance it will be disturbed. However, if the asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) have been damaged or are at risk of being disturbed then Precision Environmental Services can work with you to create an asbestos management plan or perform needed asbestos removal.
