SeavisTours, based in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic, is proud to announce that their Punta Cana Excursions now include a trip to the largest butterfly enclosure in the Dominican Republic. The butterfly farm is part of a larger animal sanctuary, the Tanama Jungle Ranch. The ranch consists of different types of Dominican reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects and spiders. Additionally, one of SeavisTours' most well-known guides, Rob van Brussel, has played a huge role in a new publication on butterflies.
"We are proud that the Tanama Jungle Ranch and our tour guide Rob could play a role in the creation of this wonderful book," says Kirsten Tilanus from SeavisTours.
Rob van Brussel is an expert in insects and spiders. He provided astonishing photographs and valuable information that formed part of the German scientific butterfly index book by Ingrid Große Meininghaus: Tagfalter der Dominikanischen Republik und Haiti. Van Brussels' contribution to the butterfly book is significant and will also help improve public knowledge about the delicate ecosystem of the Dominican.

"As an excursion company we benefit from the gorgeous environment we operate in and therefore are committed to ensure the preservation and conservation of the ecosystems," adds Kirsten Tilanus.
During the eco tours, people can view the butterflies, which are nurtured from egg to cocoon to butterfly. As such, people can see the complete metamorphosis. SeavisTours and Tanama Jungle Ranch have been able to create an excursion that highlights the importance of the conservation of natural ecosystems with real-life examples. Together with expert guiding this will aid in the continuous learning and discovery that takes place on Dominican Republic Excursions.
For SeavisTours, the goal is to continue to find ways to encourage people to learn more about nature, while respecting the delicate ecosystem at the same time. Their jungle tours, and particularly La Romana Excursions and Bayahibe Excursions, have proven to be incredibly popular.
"The SeavisTours team consists of professional tour guides that are passionate about nature," says Kirsten Tilanus. Those who visit Bayahibe all feel as if they come back with a greater understanding of the planet as a whole and why its conservation is so vital to all different forms of life.
