December 02, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
Special Hoop Camp Incorporated, a business in Beaverton, OR, is proud to announce that the company's Executive Director, Steve Garrity, has launched a Ferrari raffle fundraiser. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards supporting the work done by the nonprofit organization. Full details are available through www.ferrariraffle.com.
"To help raise money for our foundation we are raffling off a 1996 355 Ferrari spider on December 24th, Christmas eve," says Steve Garrity. "We are trying to help sustain what we do and expand our reach in the communities we serve. The tickets are $10 each and 100% of all the proceeds go to our charities."
The Ferrari was Garrity's personal vehicle and is one of just 2,700 of its kind worldwide. It is Ferrari red in color and has been maintained to excellent standards. It is expected that the raffle will draw a lot of attention.
Special Hoop Camp Incorporated, meanwhile, is a foundation that organizes sporting events for adults and children with special needs. Funds raised from the raffle will go directly towards the basketball camp that they run. Through their work, people in underserved communities will have the opportunity to engage in healthy, fun activities. Additionally, the foundation gives away meals, sports equipment and clothing. They also offer dental care to people who attend.
The foundation is 100% run by volunteers. This means that any money raised goes directly towards helping people. Having existed for 23 years, they have been able to sustain themselves in that manner and provide support to thousands of individuals.
Garrity was raised to give back to the community wherever possible. Deciding to offer services to those with physical and mental disabilities gives him tremendous personal gratification. "Our clients have a wide variety of physical and mental challenges," he said. "We have clients with all types of pervasive developmental disabilities. Our youngest clients are around 6 years old and our oldest has been 73 years old."
Garrity has also had an involvement in sports from a young age. In fact, he played professionally himself for some time. His children also participate in various sports. His wife does not partake in sports at all, but she is incredibly supportive of her children and the work her husband does.
To get involved in the work of the foundation, or to purchase tickets for the raffle, people are encouraged to visit www.hoop.camp. The goal is to sell a total of 15,000 tickets.
