Daniel Hall Combined Enterprises has announced that they are offering a course to help people build podcast audiences even if they have a minimum of tech skills and actually earn money from it as well. They cite recent news reports stating that podcasting has gone mainstream, which means it is now a credible way of earning a living and building an audience. Through their training course, they enable people to actually achieve that.

Podcasting is unlikely to ever fully replace traditional radio. However, as people are becoming used to applying different types of media, it is likely that it will become increasingly popular. This is echoed by other industries, such as the television industry that now has to compete with Netflix. Neither Netflix nor the traditional television industry is likely to ever fully disappear, but there is a clear place for both.
The fact that podcasts are now part of mainstream society is seen clearly in the story of January Jones. "January Jones is a grandmother in her seventies," explains Daniel Hall. "She was, unsurprisingly, semi-computer phobic. However, after developing the system that our course is based on, she has managed to start a successful podcast and now boasts an audience of over 3.4 million people. This really goes to show that anybody can become successful."
One of the most important things about being successful in podcasting is said to be to get publicity appearing as a guest. This was shown, for instance, when President Obama was interviewed on the WTF podcast by Marc Maron. This podcast is one of the most popular ones online today, yet President Obama's appearance has attracted between 200,000 and 300,000 new visitor downloads for each of the individual shows on his channel.
