Syracuse, NY - Syracuse Tree Service Experts, a local tree service company based in Syracuse, NY, is proud to announce the launch of a revolutionary new mapping system designed to provide hikers and outdoor enthusiasts with detailed insights into the trees that surround them. The new system uses advanced technology to create tree-based maps of local areas, allowing users to understand better the environment they are traversing.
The project, which has been in development for over five years, was spearheaded by Laney Cassandra, CEO of Syracuse Tree Service Experts. “This has been a long-term passion project of mine,” says Cassandra. “We wanted to give hikers and other nature lovers an easy way to access information about the trees they see while exploring. Our goal was to combine the latest advancements in tree mapping technology with our decades of experience as arborists to help people better appreciate the trees they encounter while outdoors.”
The map is powered by a unique combination of aerial imagery, machine learning algorithms, and field data collected by Syracuse Tree Service Experts’ team of experienced arborists. This data generates detailed visualizations of individual trees and broader overviews of forests and landscapes. Furthermore, the maps provide essential information about each tree, such as type, age, diameter, height, environmental conditions, disease status, etc.

Lead researcher on the project, Dr. Richard Smith, explains further: “Our maps provide a level of detail that has never been seen before. For example, users can zoom in on an individual tree and get detailed information about it at any point during their trek. This technology provides hikers with unprecedented knowledge about the environment around them and can be used to gain deeper insight into the ecology of any given area.”
In addition to providing detailed information about trees and other flora, the maps include details about local trails and hiking routes, such as elevation changes, water sources, and potential hazards. This helps hikers plan their trips safely and efficiently to make the most of their adventures.
Syracuse Tree Service Experts is committed to providing the most accurate and up-to-date information possible. The team will continue expanding its tree information database through regular field surveys and adding new features. With this new tool, anyone can become an expert in local forestry and share their newfound knowledge with friends and family.
“At Syracuse Tree Service Experts, we believe that knowledge is power,” says Cassandra. “We’re excited to share our new mapping system with hikers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. We hope this tool will help people connect with nature in a whole new way.”
