Charleston, South Carolina -
The Center for Occupational & Environmental Medicine (COEM) in North Charleston, SC, has announced that it has welcomed Dr. Stephen P. Elliot to its practice of Functional Medicine, Anti-Aging Medicine, and Integrative Medicine.
With 27 years of experience practicing family medicine, functional medicine, and anti-aging under his belt, Dr. Stephen P. Elliott, M.D., D.A.B.F.M., F.A.A.A.M. honed his clinical experience in treating toxicity, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, and longevity at a successful private practice that he started in Fishers, Indiana, in 2009 named Living with Intention. Dr. Elliot will be joining the clinic’s team of functional and integrative medicine experts including Dr. William J. Weirs, M.D., F.A.A.E.M.
Before he began his career as a physician, Dr. Elliot was an ordained pastor, a career he carried out for ten years before moving on to his passion for medicine and started helping people in a different way. He holds an M.D. from the Indiana University School of Medicine and is board certified in Anti-Aging Medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He also has additional training in Regenerative, and Functional Medicine. Dr. Elliot is also affiliated with the Integrative Medicine and Mental Health (Registry Physician) and the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM).
Dr. Weirs announced Dr. Elliot’s affiliation with COEM by saying, “As the world wakes up to the health benefits of functional, integrative, and environmental medicine, we have been receiving a lot of interest from patients locally as well as nationwide who have tried conventional medicine over and over again without results. We are glad to have Dr. Elliot on board to help us with this increased demand. Dr. Elliott is accepting new patients along with many of his existing patients who are joining the new practice to continue care. So, if you are interested in seeking the guidance of experienced professionals who care about getting to the root cause of your illness rather than just treating its symptoms, make sure to schedule a consultation with COEM.”
Dr. Elliot’s special interests include toxicity challenges/burdens, primarily toxic metals, and molds, chronic gastrointestinal conditions (chronic diarrhea, constipation, bloating, nausea, yeast overgrowth, etc.), adrenal fatigue, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for women and androgenic support for men, thyroid disorders, mood disorders like persistent anxiety, depression, OCD, etc., cardiovascular risk assessment and management, chronic fatigue, targeted nutritional support, diagnosis and management of Lyme disease and frequently associated co-infections, and more.
COEM provides patients with a range of programs and treatments including mold toxicity, chemical toxicity, thyroid, allergy and immunology, chronic fatigue, biodetoxification, cardiovascular health and age management, neurogenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases, and more. The clinic’s doctors treat patients with a combination of conventional allopathic medicine and some of the best, scientifically validated therapies in environmental, functional, and integrative medicine available today.
The clinic has lived up to the expectations of hundreds of patients who praise it for the compassionate care offered by its staff, the wide array of treatments and cutting-edge technology used, and the results its doctors have delivered. On its Google Business Profile, the clinic has an impressive overall rating of 4.7 out of 5.0 from over 140 reviews.
One recent Google review says, “Dr. Weirs and his staff are effective, efficient, and have a warm bedside manner. We love that the doctor never stopped working for us, even when other physicians gave up and told my husband to go home and die (no exaggeration). Dr. Weirs told us that they weren't giving up on fighting for my husband's sake, and then proceeded to explain all the work he had done on my husband's behalf and gave us options. We will forever be grateful to these wonderful people.”
Another patient writes, “Thanks to Dr. Weirs, a very pleasant and attentive doctor, always in touch and ready to answer all questions! My daughter has shown significant improvements in her blood test results and I am full of joy and hope for recovery. Happy to be your patient, COEM center!”
