January 06, 2016 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
SOAR Physical Therapy, a clinic in Woodstock, GA, is happy to welcome Tori Russell, who will also be delivering a whole new service to the clinic, enabling them to better serve their various patients. Specifically, she will be delivering occupational therapy and hand therapy, a treatment method that is increasing in popularity. Full details are available on the website home page.
"We are so happy to have Tori on board," says Brian Stevens from SOAR Physical Therapy. "She is a highly qualified occupational therapist and one of the few in the area that can provide hand therapy. Thanks to her work, we will be able to take on some of the most complex cases, improving the quality of life for people all across the Woodstock and Canton areas."
A hand therapist is an occupational or physical therapist who, through advanced continuing education, clinical experience and integration of knowledge in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, has become proficient in the treatment of pathological upper extremity conditions resulting from trauma, disease, or congenital acquired deformity.
As a new member of staff, Tori Russell will provide expert care of upper extremity conditions to help patients fully recover so they can function normally again in their lives. As a hand therapist, she will provide preventative care and post-surgical rehabilitation for a wide variety of upper extremity disorders from the simple strains to complex neurological recovery.
Specifically, Tori will be dealing with fractures of the hand, fingers, wrist or arm, lacerations, strains and sprains, nerve damage, surgical repairs of tendons and nerves, tendonitis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, stroke recovery, custom splinting, and more.
Patients are encouraged to give the clinic's Facebook page a 'Like'. In so doing, they can have more direct contact with the various therapists by joining in on specific conversations. The Facebook page is also used to share industry news and for patients to review the service that they have received. "The staff is caring and knowledgeable about my needs," says Tina M. "I've had some insurance issues, but since coming here has actually helped me, the staff has accommodated me so I may continue getting my therapy. I look forward to every session and would highly recommend SOAR for any and all physical therapy needs. Thanks for everything."
