Pool Construction Services Offered As New Desalination Plant Provides More Water For Swimming Pools

December 24, 2015

December 24, 2015 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Seattle Pool Builders, a Seattle, WA company, has announced their above ground and in-ground pool construction services. They believe that the timing is just right because of the opening of a new desalination plant in Carlsbad. Jeff Martin, a spokesperson for the swimming pool installation company, says that homeowners may want to take advantage of the fact that the plant means more water for swimming pools in the area. "It means that people have the opportunity to finally get the pool that they have dreamed of," explains Jeff Martin.

The plant has been in planning for several years, and the San Diego County Water Authority announced its operation earlier in December 2015, stating that to date, more than 1.8 billion gallons of desalinated water had already entered the water supply system. Testing on the plant was completed near the beginning of November.

The plant had faced opposition in the beginning stages, but now it has finally made it into operation. Jeff Martin points out that this is good news for those who have always wanted to have a swimming pool. He also notes that it is goods news for those who install in-ground and above ground pools.

"We've been waiting for the news that the plant is up and running. This plant will be able to reach about 80 percent of all our customers from the one location, which is excellent news," Martin states.

The Carlsbad site was chosen because of the existing industrial use by the NRG power plant, as well as its close approximation to distribution, and it is oceanfront property, which makes it a more convenient choice than others.

The big benefit is that customers in the region are no longer going to be dependent on rain and snow for their water supply, and average water districts are only expected to pay about $5 more per customer each month. Officials verified that the plant is now operating at full capacity, and is fully expected to deliver the 50 million gallon output that was anticipated, which equals about 10 percent of what the county needs. The water is expected to meet the needs of around 400,000 people, and officials state that the pipeline flow can fill swimming pools in less than a minute each.

Seattle Pool Builders, which also serves as pool heater contractors, feel that this is the best news they've heard in years.
