Wild Custom Guitars, a business in Creuzier-le-Vieux, France, is proud to announce the launch of their Baroness guitar, which has been inspired by the steampunk movement. It is the latest in their long line of great guitars, each characterized by fantastic creative work and craftsmanship. A preview image of the guitar has been released at https://www.wildcustomguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/BARONESS_STEAMPUNK_1920px.jpg.
Renaud Sauzedde from Wild Custom Guitars says: "We love steampunk. This coming together of the Victorian era and random elements of technology is both inspiring and fascinating. We are one of the first to have created a steampunk guitar and we absolutely love how it has turned out. The fact that it sounds fantastic is just a welcome bonus."
The guitar itself is a classic, six string semi-acoustic model. To match with the steampunk movement, it is created using a dark wood with a reddish tint to it. A number of cogs have been placed underneath the soundboard to match with the overall style, and all other metal elements are in a brass color with fantastic detailing. A speaker has been incorporated into the body of the guitar, just below the bridge.
For those who are not in the know, the steampunk movement can be somewhat hard to understand. It is, essentially, a type of science fiction that focuses most strongly on clothing design. The clothes themselves tend to be Victorian in style, but then have steam-powered machinery elements added to them. This is the main difference between steampunk and sci-fi, as it does not use advanced technology.
Steampunk is also a strong music movement. "Explaining steampunk music is perhaps even harder than explaining steampunk as a style," adds Renaud Sauzedde. "It is unique because it is not a traditional style of music. It blends with a future world that never became reality. It invokes feelings of what could have been, how the universe could have looked. And it changes all the time as well, it is very fluid in nature."
The new guitar, besides looking good, is made for playing. Wild Custom Guitars prides itself on creating instruments that have beautiful, haunting sounds. The guitar is now available for purchase, and is already drawing a lot of attention.
