Top Talent Visits Small School For March 29 Preview Night In Portland

TUALATIN, OR – Portland Trail Blazers Small Forward Allen Crabbe speaks at Horizon Christian High School preview night on March 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Horizon will open its school to the public for a free “Broaden Your Horizon” Community Open House aimed at educating prospective parents and students to the benefits of attending. The first fifty guests who arrive will receive a basketball autographed by Crabbe.

Horizon Christian High School Principal Bill Smethurst says, “I hope people will come, meet Allen, hear his story, and learn about the dynamic educational experience at Horizon Christian High School.”

The event will offer food, drinks, and a tour of the school, where attendees will be eligible to receive a photo opportunity with Crabbe, a raffle for autographed prizes and a $300 enrollment fee waiver for admission to Horizon Christian High School.

Horizon has been educating students since 1981 with a campus for elementary and middle school students and establishing Horizon Christian High School in 2006. Senior student Olivia J. says, “I love how friendly and loving the environment is at Horizon Christian High School, as well as the Christian atmosphere.”

This event will be the initial launch of an initiative to increase admission rates for Horizon Christian High School. Junior student Koby McCallum says, “I transferred from a public school to Horizon Christian High School because of the opportunity to learn in smaller class sizes, compete athletically in sports, and be a part of a community of students where everybody is friendly. This is what Horizon Christian is all about - the opportunity to be who you want to be.”

Guests interested in attending the preview night can register on the Preview Night page under the Admissions tab of the Horizon-Christian.org website. Prospective parents and students who are unable to attend are encouraged to schedule a tour or shadow day to meet staff and receive information.
