Glass architecture experts, Livinglass, released last week their List of Alternative Uses for Architectural Decorative Glass in building, interior design, and even in furniture. The list had a number of unique items that would not usually be seen in a catalog of glass architecture designs.
The list included such exotic items as: A conference table that glows from within, a bathroom door that brings you closer to nature, a floor that lets you see into the earth, and even a decorative wall panel that illuminates your path.
“Decorative glass panels from Livinglass reflect the beauty of glass and harness the power of light to make your architectural creations come to life in new ways,” commented Livinglass President Brett Lee. “We want our clients to stand out from the crowd with designs that truly shine and reflect their status as global brands and trend setters.”
Whether it's a chandelier of butterflies or a pillar of air and water, the glass designs on display in their newly published list are examples of ways that architecture glass is able to be the centerpiece of a room or building design.
Livinglass came up with many of the ideas for these alternative design approaches while collaborating with some of the top architecture and design firms in the world. Their goal was to create never before seen designs and architectural glass effects for their projects. Because their decorative glass is custom made, they were able to manufacture whatever the architects and designers could dream up.
Additional alternative architectural glass applications listed include: Decorative Wall Panels, Elevator Cladding, Bar Backs, Tables, Railings, Chandeliers, Partitions, Doors, and of course, Windows, plus entire rooms and major architectural features for both interiors and exteriors.
“We are always innovating new ways to not only make your designs look incredibly unique, but to use glass in ways it has never been used before,” noted Mr. Lee. “Major brands like Delta Airlines and Korean Air are using our technology to show their high end clients that they know how to cater to their luxury tastes by doing things they’ve never seen before. We enjoy helping them achieve that goal.”
Their clients hope that the beauty, comfort, and luxury of such alternative designs can give their clients a truly first class experience, no matter what shape the glass comes in. Since Livinglass panels can be built into any flat panel shape including circles, oval, triangles, and channel letters, they have a large number of design choices to help them create the look they want, or to innovate new looks.
As architectural glass manufacturing matures, these alternative uses may become increasingly mainstream.
