March 17, 2016 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
Green Tech Lawn Care is the first lawn care business in the Ozarks region to adopt a completely environmentally friendly approach to landscaping. They strive to be the greenest lawn care business in the state of Missouri. This came following a recent report that showed some shocking lawn care statistics and its impact on the environment.
In order to achieve this goal, Green Tech Lawn Care has switched their entire equipment line to solar and electric. In so doing, they have eliminated the harmful gas powered lawn care equipment. This has led to a significant reduction in their carbon footprint through a direct reduction in their lawn care emissions.
The company believes in providing the best possible customer service. This is why they guarantee their quality and responsiveness. However, the company feels that their biggest client is Mother Earth herself, so their focus is now also very strongly on protecting her. "We are adding a value that protects the environment, offering free trash and recyclables removed from lawn. We also donate a portion of our proceeds to charity," says John Krygiel, VP of Sales and Marketing at Green Tech.
The statistics on the environmental impact of looking after a lawn, which prompted Green Tech to make changes, truly are shocking. Some 7 billion gallons of water are used every day for residential irrigation. Three million tons of fertilizer are used needlessly each year as well, as fertilization can be more naturally achieved by a combination of leaving clippings on the lawn and separately applying a granular, organic fertilizer that Green Tech also offers.
Most worryingly, over 30,000 tons of pesticides are used on lawns each year, 13% of which are likely to contain endocrine disruptors and more.
For Green Tech, it is absolutely vital that lawn care becomes greener and more environmentally friendly. The fact that they are the first completely 'green' company of their kind in the state is something that fills them with pride. Furthermore, they hope it will inspire others to follow suit, encouraging them to lower emissions and reduce the amount of harmful chemicals they use. Offering greener lawn care in Springfield MO is just one of the ways in which they hope to help sustain the planet as a whole.
