This is to prevent slamming of toilet seats, which is usually startling particularly on board a boat. At night, the slamming noise can disturb the sleep of the crew. When released, Raritan's Slow Close Seat and Lid gently lowers to the bowl and the final contact is whisper-quiet. It is the finishing touch to the well-appointed marine head.

The household size seat & cover will fit the company's manual and electric toilets with standard style bowls, and even other brands with similarly sized seats. A bone version is planned.
