The Immortalitea Company in Grandville, Michigan, has recently published a blog post that commented on a study on how to maximize the potency of jiaogulan herbal tea. The blog post, however, noted that there are two points against the recommendation of the study. First is that the study has oversimplified the issue by focusing on the beneficial compounds that are extracted when boiling. It is possible that some compounds are being destroyed even while more beneficial compounds are released. Secondly, the human factor is not considered in the study because boiling jiaogulan makes it unpalatable, which means that even if there are more beneficial compounds, people would likely drink less of it.
