RX Fitness Equipment in Thousand Oaks Opens New Outlet Center in Moorpark

RX Fitness Equipment, a top-of-the-line fitness equipment retailer in Thousand Oaks, California, has just opened its new outlet center warehouse located in Moorpark, just a few miles from the main store.

Even though owners Tim and Darci Adams recently doubled the size of the main showroom on Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Tim says, "It's just not possible to keep examples of everything we carry on the showroom floor at the main store. Plus, we're adding new product lines and new inventory almost weekly."

Adams has been selling fitness equipment in southern California for almost 30 years, but he opened his own store with wife and partner, Darci, just three years ago. In that time, they have had to double the size of the showroom and even that has not been enough. "There are so many people who just like to 'trade up' every year or so that we're getting more and more near-new equipment as trade-ins every month. We had to find more space to keep it," Adams says.

"We clean up and refurbish the newest and best pieces and offer them for sale with a warranty. Our customers get great deals on like-new fitness equipment and we get to serve a clientele that may not have the budget to buy the same piece brand new."

The new RX Fitness Outlet Center warehouse will be open by appointment only for the first few months and includes a showroom floor where fitness equipment can be seen and taken for a "test run" by his customers. Adams says they chose Moorpark as the new location so that the savings in rent could be passed on to buyers. "If I can save folks a couple of hundred dollars or more, then it will be worth the extra couple of miles they might have to drive," he said.

In addition to lots of previously owned consignment and refurbished treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes and more, the Outlet Center will also house a lot of new merchandise that can't be displayed at the Thousand Oaks store. In addition, RX Fitness frequently teams up with manufacturers to offer his customers large savings on equipment like dumbbells, kettlebells, power racks, bars, plates and much more. Adams is keenly aware that fitness equipment from top-brand manufacturers can be beyond some budgets, so he's always got his eyes open for excellent buys that he can pass on to his customers without compromising his standards on quality.
