Some people would rather avoid microwave cooking, despite its convenience and speed, because they don't want to spend hours cleaning the microwave oven later because of the accumulated food splatter within. Sanford, FL company Monika's Marketplace has found a way to prevent food splatter from happening through the use of a microwave splatter cover. They had previously released this food cover on the Amazon marketplace and they are now proud to announce that this cover, which has turned out to be hugely popular, has been certified to be 100% BPA free.
A company representative says: "We have always strived to release products that people would find easy to use and that would increase their quality of their life. BPA, or bisphenol A, is a chemical that has long been used in the manufacturing of plastics. Today, these chemicals continue to be used in many food and drink packages, which many people also use in the microwave oven. However, when warmed up, it has been found that the BPA could potentially seep into the food, which may have negative effects on the prostate gland, behavior, and/or brain of the individual who consumes the food. Furthermore, some studies have now linked BPA to higher blood sugar levels. Ongoing research into BPA is being conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but the recommendation at the moment is to avoid products with BPA whenever possible.
