Anime enthusiasts enjoyed the latest information on Otakon at its annual celebration of Asian pop culture (anime, manga, music, movies, video games, etc.) and its fandom. Otakon is run by the non-profit organization Otakorp, Inc. registration will open shortly to attend Otakon 2019 scheduled for July 26-28, 2019.
TransMedia Powerhouse is sponsored this year's quick dining guide of restaurants located in close proximity to the event. Some of the highlights from Otakon 2018 which covered key issues such as:
"Turning your passion into a career" - This panel discussed how to turn one's passion into a career. Ollie Barder’s amazing panels on mecha anime. Ollie writes for Forbes and has interviewed all the mecha giants and reviewed more models and toys than one can shake a stick at. He had a panel called “Bushido and Beamsabers: A Discussion On Japan’s Unique Mecha Pop-Culture,” which will feature excellent discussion on creating a career from a passion.
Martial Arts Demonstrations - Serena DeJesus and Roxanne Modafferi showed off their martial arts skills. They conducted demonstrations at 2 PM on Friday in Panel 7 (room 146C) and 12:45 PM in panel 2 (room 207) as well as a panel at 11:30 AM on Sunday. Roxanne and Serena were excited to meet everyone and happily signed autographs and allowed pictures to be taken.
Great Places to Eat - TransMedia Powerhouse, the digital marketing experts from Edmond, OK canvased over 200 restaurants around the Washington DC convention center to provide convenient locations to hang out with friends. Several special offers were provided to the over 85,000 turnstile attendees throughout the Otakon convention while staying in Washington DC area. These offers were sent to attendees’ mobile phones 24/7 during the convention days. Several of the vendors also offered specials to Otakon attendees.
