San Antonio Real Estate Market to Remain Modest Throughout 2019

The National Association of Realtors is predicting that the real estate market will be rather modest during 2019. A big majority of this growth is expected to be on the commercial side of real estate. This is not to say, however, that there will not be a great amount of growth on the residential side as well. The prediction goes on to say that the sale of new homes is expected to increase as well.

With the National Association of Realtors predicting these modest increases, more sellers are expected to begin listing their homes. Sellers are getting higher prices for their homes as a result of the equity that they have gained on their properties.

Danielle Hale, the chief economist for the National Association of Realtors says, “With yet another year of strong demand for housing, we expect sales to be driven upward by the increase in job growth and overall confidence of consumers.”

What this equates to is that buyers now have confidence that they did not before in the housing market and their job security as well. This confidence is encouraging them to finally make moves to buy a home. Having built up equity allows sellers to have enough money from selling their home to be able to afford a down payment on their next purchase.

While the most recent forecasts for the housing market lean toward the positive end, this does not indicate that sellers will be able to sell their homes with ease. A huge determining factor in this will be how the homes are presented.
