QTE Manufacturing Solutions, based in St. Charles, Missouri, has announced that they have launched a flat rate Mastercam all inclusive training (MAIT) program for customers in Tennessee. This is in response to many customers having to deal with a skills gap and finding it difficult to find qualified people to keep their machines running efficiently. With the MAIT program, companies can enroll any of their employees to any scheduled training classes in Tennessee and other locations. QTE offers various training delivery options: open enrollment training classes at QTE training facilities; private training classes at QTE training centers; private training classes at customer’s facilities; and custom developed training solutions for unique needs.
Jason Quinn, president of QTE Manufacturing Solutions, says, “We provide you and your team with specific curriculum designed by our internal experts and experienced machinists. Our training programs are designed for you to learn the core concepts through live instruction, student exercises, and proficiency tests. Upon completion of our classes, students have been exposed to the broad curriculum to see the full process but given ample opportunity to perform detail tasks to return to work and increase productivity. Our classes are taught in state of the art facilities with new equipment and resources to ensure a positive distraction free learning environment. We are confident in our student’s success, and we offer a guarantee on our training.”
Companies will enjoy several benefits from the Mastercam industrial training classes offered by QTE Manufacturing Solutions. These include companies being up to date with Mastercam training on the latest versions of the Mastercam software; easy budgeting for continued education and training by simply adding the MAIT program to the company’s Mastercam maintenance renewal; ability to send new employees to the training programs as they join or rotate into new positions within the company; and not missing a class resulting from a purchase order not completed on time.
Various Mastercam training classes are available. These include Mastercam 2D mill machining, Mastercam 3D mill machining, Mastercam multi-axis machining, Mastercam for SOLIDWORKS, Mastercam power-user, Mastercam solid modeling, Mastercam lathe machining, Mastercam wire machining, Mastercam update, and Verisurf inspection training.
The Mastercam 2D mill machining course is a three-day hands on course and it is the base level class for QTE’s Mastercam training. Materials covered include the Mastercam interface, general drawing and modeling approaches in Mastercam, and a deeper discussion of Mastercam and machining basics. Focus is made on the 2D mill toolpaths and manipulation of geometry. Those who attend this class are expected to already have general computer and machining skills and knowledge.
The Mastercam power-user training class is a two-day hands on course designed for those who want to be knowledgeable about the specialty functions. Students who graduate from this course are expected to become a Mastercam Certified Professional. Students of this course need to have completed the Master 2D mill machining course and are experienced in using Mastercam in industry.
The Mastercam 3D mill machining class is a two-day hands on course that focuses on the appropriate selection and parameter definition of the various 3D toolpaths. Topics include 3D geometry preparation; and manipulation and creation of 3D toolpaths. Students need to have completed the Mastercam 2D mill machining class. Students of Mastercam or Mastercam for SOLIDWORKS may also attend this class.
The Mastercam multi-axis class is a two-day hands on course for the use of Mastercam 4 & 5 axis toolpaths. Students need to have a strong background on Mill 2D and 3D programming to attend this class.
For companies to be able to use the Mastercam all-inclusive training, a program must be purchased for all active maintenance SIMs. Attendance for each class is restricted to three employees per company without prior approval. Attendees of the training programs must be active employees of the company and verification may be requested. A company specific code will be given to allow employees to register for eligible training classes.
