Borolux Bakeware has recently launched a new set of borosilicate glass dishes that are all made in the U.S.A., one of which is the deep dish pie plate. A company spokesperson explained, "This pie plate is perfect for any type of pies, quiches, or chicken pot pies and is especially perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas baking season."
The glass pie dish is offered by Borolux, and like all of their bakeware, they use a special borosilicate glass formula that makes it strong even when exposed to high temperatures. Borosilicate glass uses a formula of at least five percent boric oxide, in addition to other materials that make it more resistant to extreme temperatures. The glass is used widely in manufacturing scientific instruments, and is a favorite of many professional chefs because it is safer and more durable than many other types of glass.
It can handle both extreme cold and extreme heat, and is more resistant to stains, breaking and exploding, unlike some glass dishes, when used repeatedly. "We ensure that every product we offer is safe," states a company spokesperson. "Our pie plates are shatter-proof even at temperatures up to 650 degrees Fahrenheit. We design them to be sturdy and durable."
The pie plates are the second product to be launched by the company recently. Their rectangular shaped casserole dish is created from the same materials and offers the same benefits.
The pie plate features a fluted edge and is dishwasher safe. The company states that the formula used to create their glassware products enables users to get an even and consistent cooking level every time, greatly helping to prevent burning crusts when baking. The dish's beautiful design also makes it an elegant way to serve a perfectly baked pie.
