MILTON, Queensland – Sara Crave, a maker of women’s fitness clothes, announced today that they will be joining the “A Walk in the Park” fund raising event for Parkinson’s Disease on September 13. The event, held by Parkinson’s Queensland, raises money to assist people suffering from Parkinson’s. It is Australia’s largest annual community event for Parkinson’s.

A Walk in the Park is your chance to celebrate, support and empower people living with Parkinson’s. It brings together people from all walks of life – those living with Parkinson’s, families and careers, and health professionals.
A Walk in the Park is dedicated to improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s. All funds raised by A Walk in the Park go to supporting people living with Parkinson’s in Australia. Parkinson’s Disease is a movement disorder caused by the death of brain cells that create the chemical dopamine. It affects people differently and leads to slowness of movement, often accompanied by tremors, and sometimes leads to dementia.
While a lot is known about Parkinson’s itself, there is still no understanding of its exact causes. Medication usually provides substantial improvement, but there is no cure. More than 80,000 Australians currently live with Parkinson’s, with 30 people in Australia diagnosed with Parkinson’s every day. One in 10 patients are diagnosed under the age of 45.
