Brooklyn Park, Minn. – It is no secret that small businesses around the country in every industry have taken a large hit over the past year due to the pandemic. However, while this was often noted for industries such as restaurants and locally-owned clothing stores, driving community members to purchase from these establishments instead of chains, locally owned custom awards stores were often left in the dark.
Award shops around the country have taken hits this year, unlike anything they have ever seen before. While most communities tried to shop local, without events, customers had no reason to make purchases. Local awards shops worked to find other ways to both help the community and attempt to make some income by taking on new products such as custom facemasks, face shields, plastic, or acrylic barriers for offices, and helping with new signage for coronavirus guidelines. Sadly, the new items could not help most stores maintain their income, leaving many awards stores uncertain about the future of the industry.
As award shops across the country look forward to the upcoming year, most store owners are thankful and look forward to the return of holiday celebrations, sporting events, and award ceremonies.
