Destination Paradise has recently released a 35-minute long Nevada 4K relaxation film taken using an aerial drone. It is designed not just to help the viewer calm down but also to discover the beautiful sights that can be found in the state of Nevada. Nevada is located in the Western region of the US and it is bordered by Idaho to the northeast, Oregon to the northwest, Arizona to the southeast, California to the west, and Utah to the east. The YouTube video shows aerial shots taken by a drone.

Nevada is the 19th least populous state, the seventh most extensive, and the ninth least densely populated among the US states. It has been given the nickname “Silver State” because of the important role played by silver in its economy and history. Almost three-quarters of its population are found in Clark County, where the Las Vegas-Paradise metropolitan area is located, including three of its four biggest incorporated cities. Its capital is Carson City.

The state of Nevada is almost entirely located within the Basin and Range Province, which is a wide physiographic area covering much of inland Western US and northwestern Mexico. This region has abrupt changes in elevation, alternating between flat arid valleys or basins and narrow faulted mountain chains. A large portion of the northern area of the state is located in the Great Basin, which is a mild desert with hot temperatures during the summer and cold temperatures during winter.

The mountain ranges found in Nevada have peaks reaching approximately 13,000 feet and have lush forests located high above the desert plains, resulting into sky islands for endemic species. The southern third of Nevada, where Las Vegas can be found, is situated within the Mojave Desert. This region gets less rain during the winter but is closer to the Arizona Monsoon during the summer. The terrain of this portion of Nevada is mostly under 4,000 feet, providing hot summer days and cool to chilly winter nights.

Of course, the most popular place in Nevada is the city of Las Vegas. The center of population in the state can be found in southern Nye County, in which the unincorporated town of Pahrump is included. Pahrump is situated 60 miles west of Las Vegas and has grown very fast during the period of 1980 to 2010. Meanwhile, Las Vegas only had 100 residents in 1900 but this became 10,000 in 1950, and grew further to 100,000 in 1970, making it the fastest growing city and metropolitan area from 1960 to 2000.

As for the state of Nevada, it became the fastest growing US state from about the 1940s to 2003. The population of Nevada grew by 66 percent between 1990 to 2000, while the US population only grew by 13 percent. Over two-thirds of the state’s population reside in Clark County, which is coextensive with the Las Vegas metropolitan area. Therefore, Nevada is one of the most centralized states in the US based on population.

There are many parks and recreation areas found in Nevada. In Northern Nevada, recreation areas maintained by the federal government, include the: Humboldt National Forest, Great Basin National Park, California National Historic Trail, Pony Express National Historic Trail, and Old Spanish National Historic Trail. In Southern Nevada, recreation areas managed by the federal government include the: Bootleg Canyon Mountain Bike Park; Toiyabe National Forest; Ash Meadows National Wildlife Preserve; Mount Charleston and the Mount Charleston Wilderness; Spring Mountains and the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area; Inyo National Forest; Death Valley National Park; and Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

There are 68 designated wilderness areas in the state, protecting approximately 6.5 million acres under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, and National Park Service.

There are also several state parks in Nevada. These are protected areas managed by the state government, including state historic sites, state parks, and state recreation areas. There are 24 state park units in Nevada, including the Van Sickle Bi-State Park, which opened in July 2011 and is operated by Nevada, in partnership with California.
