Nov 9 - 10 San Diego - The Maritime Alliance will Highlight Ocean and Water Technologies and Creating an International Blue Voice, during the 7th Annual BlueTech and Blue Economy Summit Nov. 9-10.
Companies, investors, educators, scientists, policy makers and international delegations will gather for a 2-day conference to focus on the fast-growing BlueTech sector. Keynote speakers, panelists, and exhibitors will showcase the latest innovations in maritime robotics, cyber security, Big Data, desalination, large floating platforms, ocean energy and, conservation, while educators will convene for a separate track on developing the Blue Economy Workforce of Tomorrow.
Greg Murphy, The Maritime Alliance Executive Director, said that, "the world is increasingly looking toward the ocean for water, energy, sustenance, recreation, security and economic development. San Diego’s Blue Economy already includes more than 1,400 companies with more than $14billion in direct annual sales that support 46,000 blue collar and white collar jobs. BlueTech clusters, companies and subject matter experts from around the world are convening in San Diego to share technological solutions to many of the world’s problems and discuss ways to create international collaborations."
Expected attendees include Mayor Kevin Faulconer, City of San Diego; Vice Admiral Charles Michel, Vice Commandant, U.S. Coast Guard; Sandra Whitehouse, Senior Advisor, Ocean Conservancy; and Michael Jones, President, The Maritime Alliance.
The event will be held Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 from 8:30am – 5:15pm, and Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 from 8:15am – 5:30pm at the Crowne Plaza San Diego – Mission Valley, 2270 Hotel Circle North, San Diego.
