Contractor State License Center Now Taking New Students For Classes In Los Angeles

The Burbank, CA based Contractors State License Center (CSLC) is accepting new students who are interested in taking the California contractor license exam. A contractor pursuing their license must have at least four years of experience in their chosen trade, although a part of this may be substituted with college or trade school, which can count up to three years (depending on the courses they have taken). Notably, any experience they document must have occurred in the past 10 years.

Students who come to the Center for classes can gain this experience either by working for a company or by being self-employed. CSLC confirms that the state will accept self-employed experience by unlicensed contractors as well, so this should not prove to be a barrier as long as they conducted themselves within the bounds of the law.
