These are the Trusted Traveler and the Global Entry programs. By signing up to these programs, people can go through the fast lane, bypassing the queues and frequent checks. They found that the application process is actually easy.
An online system, the GOES, is available through the TSA, where people can create an account in just a few minutes. Applying for the status costs $100 and once this is paid, people are invited for an in-person interview at their nearest airport. This usually takes place after about three weeks, but ZombieDisasterKits has also provided a number of tips to possibly reduce that waiting period. Tips include trying different airports, showing up early and having all the necessary documentation available.
Those approved will received a KTN (Known Traveler Number), which is 9 digits in length. By entering this when purchasing airline tickets, travelers will automatically receive TSA PRE-CHECK approval, speeding up the process. If they are then also armed with the toiletries travel kit, which is available through Amazon, they can avoid the stress and the lines.
The travel kit has been designed to be fully compliant with TSA rules. It is easy to open to show inspectors what the contents are.
