Zombiedisasterkits.com, a company based in Vancouver, Washington, has published a new blog post on sanitizing a keyboard. The company recently received a question from a My BioDefense UV sanitizing wand user who wanted to know how long it would take to completely sanitize a keyboard. The company answered the question for the customer, and then felt that it contained information that the general public would likely be interested in knowing too.
Jillian Gregg, spokesperson for the company, states, "We got the question and it just sort of led to a blog post about the subject, with some good insights for the customer and others who read it."
The post entitled "How Dirty Is Your QWERTY?" outlines findings that computer keyboards can be dirtier than toilet seats, with higher germ levels at most times. It was revealed that the National Center for Health Research found more than 400 times the bacteria in office shared keyboards compared to what is generally found on an average toilet seat.
"We just wanted to share that information because honestly, that's a lot of germs," states Gregg. The post goes on to state that keyboard bacteria is a problem in many office settings, in addition to hospitals and clinics where more and more medical staff are beginning to use electronic patient records. Gregg states that the UV Sanitizing Wand offered by Zombiedisasterkits.com is a good way to eliminate these bacteria, and can lead to healthier public areas. Gregg says that sometimes simply washing hands is not the most effective way to remove bacteria, particularly in instances where keyboards are shared by multiple users, such as in medical settings and offices.
Gregg also stated that their popular MyBioDefense app is still available for free for a limited time. The app, which works with Apple iOS and Android platforms, can be downloaded on Google Apps or from the Amazon marketplace.
Those interested in reading the newest blog post by Zombiedisasterkits.com can do so on their official website. The MyBioDefense app, which is also compatible with Android phones and tablets, is free for only a short time, according to Jillian Gregg, so those interested should get it soon.
