Lexington, KY - Urban trees are essential to successful urban planning. To celebrate the importance of these trees and ensure they remain healthy, Lexington Tree Experts have announced the launch of their Urban Planning Tree Care Program. The program is designed to help cities and towns create sustainable tree care plans and improve the health and longevity of their urban forests.
“Urban trees play an important role in our cities and towns, providing shade, clean air, and even helping to reduce stormwater runoff,” said Emmy Jessica, CEO of Lexington Tree Experts. “At Lexington Tree Experts, we believe that it’s important to recognize them for the vital services they provide, and that’s why we’re launching this new program. We want to help local governments and organizations create comprehensive tree care plans to keep our urban trees healthy for years.”
The Urban Planning Tree Care Program was created with experts from the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. It focuses on four key areas: selection, planting, maintenance, and removal. It guides on selecting the right species of trees for a specific location, how to plant and maintain them properly, and when it might be necessary to remove a tree due to disease or damage.

“Our goal is to make sure that urban trees are managed properly so that they can continue to benefit their communities for many years,” said Jessica. “By creating a comprehensive plan for urban tree care, cities, and towns can ensure that their urban forests remain healthy and vibrant for years to come.”
In addition to the Urban Planning Tree Care Program, the company has also announced the launch of its Green Spaces Initiative. This initiative aims to enhance public green spaces throughout the city by planting more trees and creating outdoor recreational areas. It’s part of the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life in Lexington by increasing access to green spaces and providing more opportunities for residents to connect with nature.
“We’re proud to be a part of this effort to make Lexington an even greener and more beautiful place to live,” said Jessica. “It’s important that we continue to invest in our city’s natural resources so that future generations can enjoy all our region has to offer.”
