Lusk Eye Specialists Hires Skilled Optometrist Dr. Caleb Francis

Shreveport, LA — Lusk Eye Specialists has made the announcement that they have added Dr. Caleb Francis to their team at their Shreveport and Minden locations. Located at 451 Ashley Ridge Blvd, Shreveport, LA 711006, and 3 Medical Plaza, Minden, LA 71055, respectively, he will offer his eye disease management and pre- and post-operative support to both clinics.

After completing his Doctor of Optometry from Northeastern State University Oklahoma, College of Optometry, Dr. Francis earned a great deal of clinical and patient care experience from NSUOCO and clinics in the Cherokee Nation in Northeastern Oklahoma. He also completed an externship at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Francis enjoys working with patients of all ages and has a particular interest in eye disease management. He specializes in ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other diabetes-related eye care. He also brings a great deal of experience in pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgeries. This experience will help Lusk Eye Specialists and its patients, especially since the practice fields so many LASIK and cataract surgery candidates.

“From a young age, I have always dreamed of being an optometrist,” said Dr. Francis, “My desire was to have a career that allowed me to make a positive impact on other peoples’ lives. Growing up, I was amazed by what eye doctors were able to do for people. They say that the eyes are not just a window into someone’s soul, but to their health, too. This role at Lusk will give me the opportunity to pursue my dream and connect with patients on a personal level. I could not ask for anything more.”

“My philosophy with patient care has always been to provide attentive and personalized care with an emphasis on communication and education,” said Dr. Francis, “Even with the mildest exam findings, patients are very appreciative of the extra bit of time I spend to assure that every one of their concerns is addressed. Patients very frequently thank me for explaining what I see in their test results as the exam unfolds. I think it’s easy to take that for granted when things are busy and there’s a lot of urgent distractions, but an extra minute can have a profound impact.”
