The Texas Wealth Network, based in Austin, TX, is proud to announce that they have developed a new real estate training program that helps not just their colleagues and students, but also the community as a whole. Phill Grove, owner and founder of the Big Dog real estate community and the Texas Wealth Network, aims for 2018 to be the year of giving. Not only does he intend to help train more successful investors, he aims to ensure that this will benefit the state as a whole. Specifically, he has rallied his students and his colleagues to raise money, organize events and fundraisers, and essentially mobilize them in order to serve the cities and communities in which they are active. The starting focus will be on the Austin area but it is expected that these activities will soon spread across the state.
Shenoah Grove from the Texas Wealth Network says: "Phill firmly believes in giving back to the community he serves and this now underpins all the services that he offers." Specifically, Phill's work includes mortgage assignment assistance (owner and sub-to financing), marketing services, mentoring and training, partnering, and short sale transaction processing. He founded Hippie Hollow Homes and Love American Homes in 2003 and, since then, has been able to buy, sell and/or renovate over 100 renovation, foreclosure, and construction properties, managed in excess of 1,000 short sales, has worked with more than 100 different clients and partners, and closed over 1,000 real estate transactions.
Phill Grove explains: "Our primary aim is to serve the community. Specifically, we want to focus on disaster relief and also ensuring that the people of Austin have access to all their basic needs, including shelter. At the same time, we aim to improve legislation, holding the industry to account. 2017 was an excellent year for this and we believe 2018 will be even greater. We wouldn't be where we are without the community around us and we believe in paying that forward. This is the foundation of everything that we do."
Around a year ago, in August 2017, the Groves organized the 'Big Dog Habitat for Humanity Day'. This was an event during which 15 different investors volunteered their time for Austin resident Claudia Duran and her four daughters. This was the sixth home built by Team Habitat and Phill and Shenoah Grove were able to contribute an additional $3,000 to the project after becoming official Team Habitat Sponsors.
Additionally, Phill Grove and his team came together to help those families who had lost everything as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Bringing together his partners, students, and colleagues, Phill started the 'Big Dog Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort'. Together, they were able to raise $26,000 and this helped 17 Houston families return home. Additionally, the team was able to attract 40 different investors who visited the homes of affected families and helped in the remediation of the properties.
Shenoah, who is both Phill's wife and business partner, was pivotal in achieving this. She was able to bring her personal influencers together to help wherever they could. She brought in Ryan Lancon, for instance, a respected insurance adjuster. Lancon ensured that families were able to properly submit their insurance claims while also participating in an informational phone call that Houston residents could access for free. Shenoah explains: "This is just one of the many ways in which we have aimed to give back to our community. We hope that there won't be any disasters in 2018, but if there are, we are ready. And in the meantime, we will pool our resources to help deserving community members in any way we can."
Meanwhile, Mr. Grove explains that he has been inspired by seeing members of his community grow both personally and professionally. He says: "Watching my students and colleagues come together to complete real estate deals is great, but watching them join forces to give back through philanthropic acts is even better. I encourage everyone to join us in 2018, making Austin the best community to live in."
The Groves are highly respected and well-known in the Austin area for their real estate investment work and commitment to improving the community in 2018 and beyond.
