September 18, 2018

September 18, 2018 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Collaborate Educate Our Sons, Inc. (CEOS), a Maryland based interfaith not for profit organization has announced that it will celebrate its 10th Weekend of Hope and Inspiration and its 6th Annual Awards Gala for young men and their families on Sunday, October 7, 2018. The 5:30 pm banquet will be held at Martin's Camelot, 13901 Central Avenue, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.

Designed to educate, form and nurture transformational leaders, the mission of CEOS is to build constructive contributors for a brighter tomorrow by raising educational awareness for boys and young men so that it is embedded in both the community and family culture.

"Our sons are walking through a landscape filled with landmines of low spiritual, intellectual and social capital with many dangers lurking everywhere. We must do something to save them," said CEOS founder and chief executive officer Dr. Bertram Melbourne. Continuing, he added "We must collaborate to keep them safe and productive by providing an ecosystem that will put a solid path under their feet and offer protection."

Dr. Melbourne states that the theme for the banquet, "Bridges of Hope and Inspiration" speaks a truth that should be remembered at all times.

"This event will provide an enriching platform for parents, mentors, and youth leaders who want to affirm our sons, or those who want to leave a legacy of investing in the lives of young men," Dr. Melbourne continues.

The keynote speaker is Mr. Carl Sharperson Jr., who is a Leadership Innovation Strategist, speaker, author, and coach. He specializes in taking leaders from mediocre to maximizing their potential in work and personal life.

One of the special features of the program is the pinning tradition, where the young men are affirmed with a pin and a prayer of dedicated support.

The event is designed as a fundraiser for young men who are at risk. There will be a heartwarming and memorable ceremony of parents pinning their sons with a special CEOS pin designed especially for the occasion. "Education for young men in these times when it is difficult to be a young man is critical," said Dr. Melbourne. "It is essential that we build an understanding among diverse peoples to encourage them to motivate boys and young men to achieve academically and be prepared for entrance into college and universities," he continued. This evening will be filled with memorable moments that should not be missed.

This is an annual event, held each fall in an effort to raise money for scholarships for high school and college students in need. The event is designed to help students to thrive financially. CEOS also offers workshops to educate mentors that in turn, help students in need. CEOS states that they have found that when young men have no fewer than four significant relationships in their lives, they grow up to become good, contributing citizens. Dr. Melbourne states that this annual event is designed to help young men to achieve those thriving relationships.

Those who are interested in purchasing tickets for the event or who need directions to the event can find all of the appropriate information on the CEOS official website. Tickets can be purchased and paid for online through PayPal or credit card. The website offers more information about the event, as well as information about volunteering or donating to the organization.

CEOS strives to assemble people of all races and religions to help support young men and make graduating from college a goal in more young men's lives. The organization encourages the establishment of centers in schools, churches and other facilities, where young men can be mentored to become upstanding citizens in their communities. CEOS is organizing mentors to help increase the number of males enrolled in higher education facilities and to help men complete their studies and prepare for graduation.

Those interested in helping with the event, attending or offering their assistance in any other way can do so on the CEOS official website. Those interested can also find a blog, news articles and other information about the organization itself including statistics and why they do what they do. The event is just one in a line of many ways that CEOS is working toward building a better future for men of all races and from all over the nation. The organization offers more information about their goal, their formation and what consumers can do to help on their website.
