According to recent studies, experts found that the COVID-19 coronavirus can survive up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard, and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel. In addition to recommendations to thoroughly sanitize surfaces before and after use, wearing gloves, and avoiding contact if possible, the use of tools can be a useful option for those who have no option but to interact with publicly shared surfaces.
The innovative tool created by G & W by Allogram South is made of .25” thick black acrylic and allows users to safely touch public surfaces with a lessened chance of becoming infected from contact-spread diseases. Allo-Guard can be used instead of fingertips or hands to touch public surfaces such as elevator buttons, public door handles or shared recycle bins. To make Allo-Guard more convenient for users, the Norfolk engraving experts designed the product to be conveniently 4 inches long, with a loop available to attach on to keychains so it is always accessible to use.
