Heirloom Culinary, a business based in Rushford, NY, has been overwhelmed by the popularity of their unique, handmade Amish bird house. Co-founder of Heirloom Culinary Jack Liguori says: "I have worked together with Amish designers for a long time. In so doing, I learned about their particular lifestyle and their arts and crafts. When I asked them to design a birdhouse, I already knew it was going to be successful, but even I could not have anticipated how much our customers and the birds would love the product."
Heirloom Culinary decided to complete a piece of research as to why the Amish Birdhouse is so popular with birds. Some customers even reported that birds were starting to show an interest while it was still being mounted, which is truly unique since birds are very shy animals and very wary of human contact. What they found was that the smell of fresh pine that the house emits is what attracts the birds.
Because the birdhouse is made from completely natural materials, it is in no way harmful to bird life. This is something that many customers have commented on, as well as on the excellent quality and craftsmanship. "Wow this is absolutely beautiful," says Rachel Paligo. "It is made from real tree wood. I like that. It is made well and strong and the person who made it has skills. Because this is made out of real wood, birds will go to it by nature. It is a little heavy but for me that wasn't a problem. I love how it has that natural tree smell. That's for sure a good feature as well. Watching the bird go in and out of it is so neat. Its easy to clean as well. And it comes with pre-drilled holes."
