"I designed the kitchen shears not just to be beneficial in the kitchen, but to have the potential to be lifesaving," says Jack Liguori. Jack Liguori designed the shears after he had an accident in a plane himself. He found himself stranded for several days and found that what he missed most was a small, multi-functional tool that he knew wouldn't break. He had difficulties cutting himself out of his harness, building a shelter, finding food and generally being comfortable until help arrived. This experience pushed him to make something that could help avoid this in future.
