Dharma Acupuncture in Scottsdale, Arizona, under the leadership of Lisa Swanson, L.Ac., has recently announced that they are offering services that will help patients with facial rejuvenation. Swanson, along with aesthetician Mary Koagedal, announced that they are offering an end of summer facial care procedure called dermaplaning that includes fruit enzyme masks.
"In Arizona, summer is hot, mostly dry and sometimes humid. Being careful with your skin is mandatory," explains Mary Koagedal. She goes on to say that there are a number of ways to protect skin, such as not facing directly into the sun during the summer months, and avoiding facial peels until summer's sun has gone. During summer, the sun's rays are particularly strong, and it has been observed that this can cause hyper pigmentation of the skin. "Summertime is great for fruit enzyme exfoliation masks," adds Koagedal.
In the treatments offered at the Scottsdale acupuncturist clinic, the aesthetician focuses on the oxygenating trio and first activates the skin, then detoxifies it, and finally oxygenates it for a replenishing effect. She uses cherry bark, which has been found to provide all of the required mechanisms, and is safer for summer skin than using chemical peels. This is a simple procedure that has been shown to exfoliate skin to remove peach fuzz hair and impurities.
Koagedal works alongside Lisa Swanson, acupuncturist and owner of Dharma Acupuncture, and the two have noticed the positive effects of using dermaplaning along with an acupuncture facial rejuvenation technique. They state that patients have been more than satisfied with the results that they are seeing from this combination of therapies.
Swanson was recently interviewed on Fox5 in San Diego, and was asked to speak on the therapy that the clinic is providing. She stated that there are benefits to using acupuncture to rebuild collagen and reduce fine lines and wrinkles, because it brings blood and oxygen to the skin, which makes looking younger easy for patients.
The clinic is currently offering these techniques to patients. More about dermplaning and using acupuncture for rejuvenating the skin, as well as a complete list of services that the clinic offers, can be seen on their official website.
