LipsigLawyers.com reports on the details of a news release from ABC7 in Naples which discusses the story of a woman who says her e-cigarette exploded in her face in February of 2016. Due to this explosion, the woman reported that she is now waiting to find out whether or not she may lose yet another tooth as she looks ahead to years of dental work which will be required to reconstruct her smile. The woman alleges that as she was taking a drag of her e-cigarette, the device exploded, causing damage to her mouth and face, and catching her friend’s rental car on fire.
The woman states that she has had many dentist appointments since this explosion and that her gumline is permanently damaged. She discussed her injuries to the news outlet, stating, “The bridge had broken once and, yeah, it’s very unnerving to feel your whole skull kind of shift when you talk and eat.” She indicates that although her teeth look substantially improved from the “mangled mess” she first came in with, “...they don’t feel great. At all.” The dentist working on her indicated that he had never seen damage like what she had suffered when she first came in and reported that this included a broken upper jaw bone, broken teeth, and burns. The woman reports that she is working with an attorney to file a lawsuit and that she is unsure how to put a price on what she feels that she has lost.
Unfortunately, many others join her in alleging that they too have suffered after experiencing an e-cigarette explosion. An Olive Garden Employee recently made news when his e-cigarette reportedly exploded in his pocket, burning his body significantly. As e-cigarette use becomes increasingly popular, many feel that these incidents will happen with increasing frequency as well.
