Thomas Moverman of LipsigLawyers.com commented on a scissor lift accident that occurred in Salt Lake City, on June 4th. Moverman wished both victims a speedy painless recovery and hopes that they will be able to return to work in the near future. Attorney Moverman also indicated that construction accidents have occurred repeatedly in recent years and that revisions to current regulations are imperative for future construction site safety.

As reported by the Journal of Emergency Medical Services in association with the Deseret Morning News, Salt Lake City Fire Department officials confirmed that two construction workers were critically injured by a scissor lift. The 2 men suffered traumatic injuries, while working on top of an aerial work platform in a parking garage construction zone. Both men were taken to Intermountain Medical Center for treatment. After securing both men into an ambulance, local police and workplace safety investigators were called in to examine the scene with the goal of pinpointing the cause of the accident.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in the 2014 calendar year, there were close to 3,000,000 non-fatal injuries and illnesses in all private industries. The BLS also indicated that there were over 4,800 fatal injuries in all public and private industries in 2014. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) stated that being struck by equipment or objects was the third leading cause of fatal injury in the construction industry.
