Express Employees Partner with Food Share for Brand It Blue Initiative

Thousand Oaks, CA, June 2022—The Thousand Oaks and Oxnard Express Employment Professionals franchise offices, providers of corporate staffing solutions, recently partnered with Food Share of Ventura County as part of the Brand It Blue Initiative, a company-wide philanthropic effort.

Express employees and family members volunteered at the Food Share Senior Garden in Oxnard on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. There they picked weeds, transported and sorted mulch, planted lettuce and chard, and even fed a few chickens.

“At Express, part of our mission is to bring hope through employment, and we accomplish that by really investing in communities,” said Bill Stoller, CEO and chairman of the board for Express Employment Professionals. “Whether it’s helping end chronic hunger, building wheelchair ramps for the disabled, collecting pet food or partnering with numerous other nonprofits, we are proud of the difference our offices make.”

Since 1978, Food Share has been feeding the hungry in Ventura County. As Ventura County’s regional food bank, Food Share provides food for 140,000 hungry friends and neighbors monthly. Food Share is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief network of food banks, as well as the California Association of Food Banks.

“Brand It Blue Day is a day each Express office can come together for one great cause to help the community,” said Neil McMillan, franchise owner of the Thousand Oaks and Oxnard Express offices. “It’s a chance for Express offices to honor the communities that have supported us through the years by giving back.”

Express is on a mission to put a million people to work annually. The Ventura County Express Employment Professionals offices began operation in 2006.
