With Christmas only just around the corner, parents are looking at finding games and activities to give to their children. However, each year, this raises the question of product safety. The educational toys and games company, GrowUpSmart has indicated that they are committed to offering customers products that ensure their children can be entertained and learn at the same time but assured of their safety. They are proud to announce that their Smart Tactics Chess sets for kids have been tested and found to meet all the necessary safety standards.
The tests have been completed by Intertek, which is a third party laboratory. They have announced that the US Toy Safety Standards have been fully met. This means that the chess sets can be safely used by anyone within the age range denoted on the game.
"Many parents probably don't realize that chess games are considered to be in a gray zone between being a product for children and for adults," says Martin Reinhold, manager at GrowUpSmart. "Many chess games on the market are therefore not tested for safety hazards as defined by US toy safety standards. We are very proud of the fact that ours has been tested to be safe for children."
Chess is a game that is believed to be one of the oldest in the world, with archeological and historical evidence dating it back to some 3,000 years ago. Chess is a game that requires the development of strategic, tactical, and logical thinking, all of which are important cognitive functions. GrowUpSmart believes in fostering those skills and functions by enabling people of all ages, from the very young to the very old, to be able to play safely.
The Smart Tactics chess set series comes in different editions. There is the Standard Edition, which includes the board and the pieces. The Plus Edition also includes a red velvet drawstring bag, which makes it easier to transport the board and pieces of chess clubs or other activities, while protecting the board at the same time. Finally, there is the Premium Edition, which includes the board, pieces, and bag, but also holds a spare set of chess pieces. In this way, the chess set would be still be playable even if a piece is lost.
