"The backgammon set was only released in October, but the popularity of the game has really taken us by surprise," says Martin Reinhold, founder of GrowUpSmart. "Unfortunately the game sold out before Christmas, but we are working hard to get them back on the shelves."
Backgammon is one of the world's oldest games, believed to date back some 3,000 years ago. Meanwhile, various research studies have shown it to be incredibly beneficial in developing a range of cognitive functions in children. These include strategic and logical thinking, as well as reasoning and memory. Furthermore, being a game played with two people, it also enhances social interaction between friends, or between parents and their children.
"We aimed to create a backgammon set that is not educational, but also a lot of fun," adds Martin Reinhold.
