MARGATE, Fla. – On Saturday, December 19, NBA veteran Keyon Dooling joined Recovery On Air to share the inspirational story of how he recovered from childhood sexual abuse and how he is helping others. He discussed his work with The Respect Foundation and details from his book, “What’s Driving You??? How I Overcame Abuse and Learned to Lead in the NBA.”
Prior to his early retirement, Keyon Dooling was the 10th overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft and was a member of seven NBA teams before retiring from the Memphis Grizzlies. While his childhood trauma led to a widely publicized and career-ending breakdown, Dooling found a way to triumph after tragedy.
Dooling shared his compelling story on Recovery On Air starting at 9:00 a.m. on 640 AM. The show also broadcasts live on www.640sports.com.
“Keyon’s story is one that anyone who has suffered from abuse or trauma should hear,” said Dr. Barry M. Gregory, Ed.D., M.Ed., LMHC, clinical director of Reflections Treatment Center and host of Recovery On Air Radio Show. “He is living proof of what’s possible if you face your issues head on and do the work to heal and live a healthy, productive and sober life.”
Recovery On Air is produced by Reflections Treatment Center, an outpatient drug treatment facility located in Margate, Florida that was founded by Kenny Chatman.
