Anaheim, California - Lighthouse Treatment Center, a leading drug and alcohol rehab center in Anaheim, Orange County, proudly announces its support for the Tip-A-Cop Anaheim event. The Tip-A-Cop event, organized by the Anaheim Police Department, is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The event, which took place on June 13, 2024, aims to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Southern California athletes.
The Tip-A-Cop event is a unique fundraising initiative where police officers volunteer to work as servers and hosts at local restaurants. Every tip the cops receive goes directly to supporting Special Olympics athletes. The success of the fundraising event highlights the community's dedication to supporting Special Olympics athletes, bringing together law enforcement officers and community members for a worthy cause.
Tamara Jimenez, Community Relations Manager at Lighthouse Treatment Center, attended the event on behalf of the organization saying that the Lighthouse is honored to support such events in the community.
"Lighthouse Treatment Center believes in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Supporting the Special Olympics through the Tip-A-Cop event aligns with our mission to foster a healthier, more compassionate society. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this event by the Anaheim Police Department and Special Olympics Southern California to make a positive impact,” said Jimenez.
This year, the Anaheim Police Department has teamed up with BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse to host the Tip-A-Cop event. The place served as the perfect venue for the event, offering a welcoming atmosphere for participants and attendees. The restaurant's staff worked alongside the police officers, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.
The funds raised from the Tip-A-Cop event will directly support Special Olympics Southern California athletes by providing essential resources for their development and success, helping them reach their full potential. Additionally, the participation of local businesses like the Lighthouse Treatment Center not only helped raise these funds but also strengthened the connection between businesses, law enforcement, and the community.
"Overall, it was a great experience to see the community coming together to support our local police officers and the Special Olympics athletes. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and dedication of the police officers, as well as the generosity of community members who came out to show their support. It's not everyday that you get to see such a positive and impactful event taking place right in your own neighborhood. That's why the Lighthouse Treatment Center is proud to be present in such an important event and looks forward to continuing our support in the future,” added Jimenez.
Lighthouse Treatment Center's participation in the Tip-A-Cop event is part of its broader commitment to community engagement and support. The center regularly partners with local organizations and initiatives to promote health, wellness, and unity within the Anaheim community.
"We understand that addiction recovery goes beyond individual treatment," Jimenez explained. "It involves building strong, supportive communities where everyone can thrive. Events like Tip-A-Cop allow us to contribute to the well-being of our community and support causes that align with our values."
Lighthouse Treatment Center encourages community members to continue supporting the Special Olympics and similar initiatives. "Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. We invite everyone to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of our communities as a whole," said Jimenez.
