Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol treatment facility in Anaheim, California, is excited to announce that members of its Alumni Program have been taking part in volunteer programs to bring playgrounds to local neighborhoods in Orange County.
Lighthouse Alumni participated in the volunteer initiative on September 14 to 16, 2022 that was organized by Kaboom!, a national non-profit organization, in an effort to give children living in underserved areas a safe place for fun and recreation.
Sara Alba, Alumni Coordinator of the Lighthouse Treatment Center, said that the Lighthouse Alumni Program continuously looks for ways to connect its members to the community and leave positive impressions.
"With sobriety comes newfound passions and opportunities for giving back. Thanks to our volunteers from the Lighthouse Alumni Program and Kaboom!, children in these communities will now have a safe place to play and explore. We encourage others who are interested in helping out their community in a similar way to get involved. It's truly a rewarding experience," shared Alba.
Members of the Lighthouse Alumni Program who attended the event shared that they felt grateful for the opportunity to give back.
Chris M, a Lighthouse Alumni Program member, said: "I was able to use my skills to help bring joy to the community. The Lighthouse Treatment Center has allowed me to leave my mark. I am taking the skills I learned in finding new avenues to positively impact my community and the lives of others. It feels awesome to be sober and to do great things in the world."
