First Aid Shoppe, providers of high-end first aid and survival gear and kits, announced today that they will be partnering with Ben's, a line of DEET based personal insect repellents, to offer select items on sale for the summer. All Ben's personal insect repellents use a DEET-based formula with 30% DEET that provides up to 8 hours of protection. DEET is effective against ticks and other biting insects that may carry infectious disease, and has been in use for many decades as an effective personal insect repellent. The DEET formula is engineered to evaporate slowly, which allows the repellent stays on longer for extended protection with little absorption into the skin.
"Summer is here and I'm sure everyone is already feeling the sting," says COO of First Aid Shoppe, Anna Loehwing. "And I don't just mean the sting of the heat. The bugs are out and they're really out in force by now. It's the perfect time for a sale on bug repellent, and Ben's is one of our most popular lines. We're partnered with them to deliver several of their key products, including field wipes and sprays, for a discounted price."
All Ben's products use DEET. For most products this is in a 30% compound ratio, though they do offer a super concentrated version that is 100% DEET. DEET has been in use for decades as a personal insect repellent. It is proven to repel ticks, mosquitoes, fleas and a wide range of biting insects. First Aid Shoppe will be partnered with Ben's to deliver these products at a reduced price for the summer.
"DEET is the original," says Ms. Loehwing. "It's been around since the forties and it's just one of the best out there for keeping the bugs and the pests away."
First Aid Shoppe and Ben's are offering these select products on sale. According to Ms. Loehwing they may adjust the pricing according to demand throughout the season. First Aid Shoppe carries six (6) products in the Ben's line, including wipes and sprays, and a spray specifically for clothing and gear, and all will be reduced.
