Today Anna Loehwing, COO of First Aid Shoppe, announced that they will partner with Natrapel to offer a summer sale on some of the Natrapel line of personal insect repellents. Natrapel personal insect repellent products use a DEET-free Picaridin formula which is recommended by the CDC as an alternative to DEET and carries the same ratings. The concentrations of Picaridin in Natrapel products indicates a concentration that provides 8 hours of protection from biting ticks and insects. First Aid Shoppe is a first aid and survival gear company catering to outdoorsmen and sports enthusiasts.
"We're well into bug season and if you haven't got your protection already, we're making it easy to catch up now," says Ms. Loehwing. "Several of our products are on sale, including the continuous spray and the eight hour wipes. These are some of the most popular items we sell in partnership with Natrapel."
Superior to DEET in terms of corrosive effects, Picaridin is safe on gear. It has been tested and will not melt jackets, fishing line, or other synthetic materials. The longevity of the Picaridin formula in Natrapel maintains the efficacy of the application for 8 hours or more, and this duration applies to all Natrapel products.
"A little of this goes a long way," says Ms. Loehwing. "And it lasts. Also, it's easy on gear. This really is a great solution to the classic DEET that is so popular but that has certain drawbacks."
For the summer First Aid Shoppe in partnership with Natrapel is offering discounts on several of their Natrapel line. The Natrapel products may change in pricing, according to First Aid Shoppe, as the season progresses. All items in the Natrapel line use Picaridin instead of DEET as their active ingredient.
